PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet printing method for intermediate tone printing in which the amount of use of ink is small and the processing rate is high. SOLUTION: A method of printing for printing by using a printing head 20 with a plurality of ink drop jet instruments of different dimensions and jetting ink drops on a recording medium 26 comprises a process of operating an ink drop jet instruments of first dimension on a first printing line, a process of displacing the printing head 20 to the recording medium 26 and a process of operating an ink drop jet instrument of second dimension on a second printing line and forming spots of different diameters arranged in the printing direction by two jetted ink drops.
