PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform automatic accommodation of a boom of a vehicle for high lift work quickly without giving a sense of unease to the operator. SOLUTION: An automatic boom accommodating device 30 is composed of a boom position sensor 31, an automatic accommodation command means (automatic accommodate switch) 32, an automatic accommodate control means (controller) 35 to control the accommodating operation of the boom, and a hydraulic unit 40 with associate actuators as a means to operate the boom. When the switch 32 is put on, the controller 35 allows the boom to operate so that only one direction of each moving shaft is moved in the accommodating direction, and when the start of movement of the moving shaft is sensed by the position sensor 31, the accommodating operation of the next moving shaft is started after a certain period of time, and this procedure is repeated for all shafts one after another. At the start of accommodation of each shaft, the accommodating speed is made low to be increased gradually, and the operation speed is controlled so that the composed vector of the shafts is directed to the accommodation position.
