PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pressure roll not having possibility generating the meandering of a sleeve, the lowering of durability, the leakage of a liquid or the like and an apparatus for producing a thermoplastic resin sheet. SOLUTION: A pressure roll 10 has a metal sleeve 44 provided on the outer peripheral surface thereof and a fluid controlling the temp. of a sheet flows through the sleeve 44. In this case, the metal sleeve 44 is supported on the end plates 39 being the supports of this sleeve through metal seal members 45 elastically deformable in a pressing direction. Each of the metal seal members 45 has a V or U-shaped cross section. An apparatus for producing a thermoplastic resin sheet is equipped with a first roll and the pressure roll 10 and the first roll and the pressure roll 10 are arranged so that a molten resin sheet is passed through the nip between both rolls to be cooled.
