PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase yield in the manufacture of ink jet recording head utilizing shearing mode deformation. SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing an ink jet recording head comprises a step for bonding a cover plate 3 to an actuator member 1 having a plurality of channels 9 for ejecting ink, a step for making a plurality of grooves 30 in the surface of the cover plate 3 being boded to the actuator member 1 at positions corresponding to respective side walls 10 of the plurality of channels 9 in the actuator member 1, and a step for bonding the actuator member 1 and the cover plate 3 through an adhesive. According to the method, excess adhesive is prevented from flowing into the channel 9 to cause clogging when the actuator member 1 and the cover plate 3 are bonded.
