PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reliably hold a main body with a small or simplified handhold by providing recesses or lugs gripped by fingers on part of the main body. SOLUTION: A main body 1 is integrally molded with cylindrical side faces and a bottom face. Crescent-shaped recesses 6 are provided at the upper sections of both side faces of the main body 1, and concaves 7 are provided on the upper faces of the recesses 6. Fingers are put into the recesses 6 of the main body 1 to carry this electric water heater. Since the concaves 7 are provided on the upper faces of the recesses 6, the fingers can firmly hold the electric water heater without swaying it and without being slipped, the electric water heater is made small, and the number of part items can be reduced. A handhold section for conveyance is not protruded from the main body 1, and the package of the electric water heater can be made small. Hook sections extending downward may be provided at the tips of lugs serving as a handhold section integrally molded from the main body 1 at the upper sections on both side faces of the main body 1, or a recess may be provided below the rear section of a spout 2.
