PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a grasping tool for any cargo without need for holding it from below and requiring a simple operation to handle. SOLUTION: A fastening and grasping tool for a cargo to grasp it from above includes transporting elements capable of oppositely moving mutually in alignment downward from a transport assembly capable of elevating and sinking on both sides of a vertical center plane, and grasping elements confronting and capable of abutting to the cargo from the sides are arranged on the transporting elements, wherein vertical guide 20 for the grasping elements extending with an upward opening angleαusing the center plane 21 as reference are provided on the transporting elements 15 (and 16), and standby positions for the grasping elements are provided at the top of the vertical guide 20, and when the grasping element within the standby positions is held by pressure to lift the transporting assembly by abutting the grasping elements on the cargo, the grasping elements slide toward the cargo relatively to the transporting elements 15 (and 16), thereby the fastening process is executed automatically with a fastening force depending upon the weight of the cargo.
