PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a persistently water-repelling glass fiber product that can particularly stand its long-term use outdoor by treating a glass fiber product with an aqueous solution containing silicone oil/acrylic silicone resin or the like. SOLUTION: A mixed aqueous emulsion of a silicone oil and an acrylic silicone resin, or an aqueous treatment solution containing an aqueous emulsion of silicone oil and a thermosetting resin, for example, a water-soluble melamine resin is applied to glass fiber products and the coated glass fiber products are heat-treated at 150-300 deg.C to give the water repellency to the fiber product. As the silicone oil, are cited a straight silicone oil represented by the formula (R is methyl group, phenyl group or the like), or a modified silicone oil bearing amino groups and epoxy groups as a part of R in the formula. |
