PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for preventing the rusting of a casing by which the exterior face of the casing is surely kept from rusting. SOLUTION: On a metallic casing 2 of an outdoor electric device, etc., a sunshade 3 formed by laminating sheets having heat expansion coefficient different from that of the casing is provided, a rust inhibitor reservoir 1 for storing a rust inhibitor is furnished between the sunshade 3 and the casing 2, and the sunshade 3 is deformed by a change is the outside air temp. to discharge the inhibitor in the casing 1 on the exterior face of the casing 2. After the casing 2 is set outdoors, the casing 2 is kept from rusting by utilizing a change in the outside air temp. through at irregular intervals, and a lasting rust inhibiting effect is obtained.
