PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable speed type passenger conveyor capable of transporting a wheelchair, cart, etc. SOLUTION: Pallets 1a, 1b, 1c are coupled together with no gaps in between, and a good spaciousness is secured for use of wheelchair, etc. A link mechanism 2 is connected with the central pallet 1b by a fixation part 3, wherein the connection part 4 is rotatable perpendicularly to the elongating direction for each pallet unit, and expansion and contraction are conducted by a guide rail 5. At the gateway, it is contracted to such a size as to be accommodated neatly under the pallet and inverted pallet by pallet.
