PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polyethylene composition good in molding processability, mechanical properties including mechanical strength, impact resistance and rigidity, heat resistance, optical properties, etc., and useful for various containers by compounding a specific ethylene (co)polymer with another ethylene (co)polymer. SOLUTION: This polyethylene composition is obtained by including (A) 99-5 wt.% of an ethylene (co)polymer prepared by homopolymerization of ethylene or copolymerization of ethylene with a 3-20Cα-olefin and meets such requirements as to have a density of 0.88-0.97 g/cm3, melt flow rate of 0.01-100 g/10 min, and molecular weight distribution of 1.5-4.0 and make a rise of the tensile viscosity (strain hardening) in a time-tensile viscosity curve afforded by tensile viscosity measurement at constant shear rate, and (B) 1-95 wt.% of another ethylene (co)polymer.
