PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low cost wheel support structure having an improved workability in assembling and a superior shock resistance, which is small, light- weight and compact. SOLUTION: In this structure to support a wheel rotatably with respect to the vehicle body via a bearing portion, the bearing portion is a taper-roller bearing comprising an inner member 1, an outer member 2 mounted on the periphery of the inner member 1, and plural rows of tapered rollers 3 mounted between the inner member 1 and the outer member 2. The outer member 2 is provided with plural rows of raceway surfaces 12 through which the tapered rollers 3 rotate and a hardened layer at least on the raceway surfaces 12 and chamfered areas 13. The inner member 1 comprises a hub 1a having a flange part 1a2 to mount on the vehicle body, an annular member 1b secured at the periphery of the hub 1a, and the raceway surfaces 12 formed on the outer surfaces of the hub 1a and the annular member 1b, respectively, through which the tapered rollers 3 rotate. |
