PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a breaking or an external waviness phenomenon or the like from being generated in the process of drying veneers by forming a fitting part whose size is smaller than the inside dia. of a spring conveyor and larger than the inside dia. of a spring for connection, on both ends of a coupler introduced through the spring for connection of an optional length which is fitted into the inner periphery near the endless coupling part of the spring conveyor. SOLUTION: A spring conveyor 9 is rotated endlessly suspended while pressing the upper surface of a continuous veneer in which a stress of shrinkage, external waviness loosening apart is generated. Further, the spring 10 is prevented from becoming scattered and lost by the fitting part 12 of a coupler 11 which is introduced into the spring 10 for connection to fit both ends, and the spring conveyor 9 is set free from a state in which the conveyor 9 is rotated endlessly suspended. Thus both end parts which are now free of the spring conveyor 9 are prevented from interrupting a conveying path for the veneer to damage the continuous veneer in the process of conveyance or running into an installed object such as a jet box in a veneer dryer. Consequently it is possible to prevent the spring conveyor 9 from becoming scatted and lost following the breaking of the spring 10 for connection, thereby preventing a trouble from occurring.
