PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a coating film of uniform thickness by performing primer coating with a water-based paint when a woody fiber board is still hot after heating press forming in the case paint is re-applied to the surface of the woody fiber board that woody fiber is subjected to heating press forming to manufacture the woody fiber-coated board. SOLUTION: In the case a woody fiber-coated board 1 is manufactured, first, mixed material consisting of woody fiber and adhesive is subjected to heating press forming by using a metal mold to obtain a woody fiber board 7. Next, primer coat is applied to the surface of the woody fiber board 7. When performing the primer coat, the woody fiber board 7 is taken out from the metal mold of a heating press, and in hot state in which heat on performing heating press stays, water-based paint consisting of acrylic emulsion paint and white coloring pigment is applied to the surface of the woody fiber board 7. Next, after solvent base paint consisting of a coloring agent and polyester resin is applied to the woody fiber board 7, excess paint is drawn off to do wiping coloring. Consecutively, intermediate coat and finish coat are applied to the woody fiber board 7 to obtain a finished article.
