PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surgical appliance improved in safety and operability for preventing the malfunction of the appliance when an operating switch is erroneously touched. SOLUTION: An electric scalpel 1 is mainly composed of first add second electrodes 11 and 12 provided at the top end of a sheath part 10 and a grip part 14 provided at the base end of the sheath part 10, and a battery 8 is freely attachably and detachably connected to the grip part 14. Inside the grip part 14, a high frequency generating circuit 15 electriclly connected with the first electrode 11, a first electric contact 16 electrically connected to the second electrode 12, a second electric contact 17 electrically connected to a pole 8b of the battery 8, an operating switch 18 for controlling whether or not power from the battery 8 is to be supplied to the electrodes 11 and 12 while controlling the electric contact with these electric contacts 16 and 17, and a slide switch 19 for switching the electric contact of the operating switch 18 and the electric contacts 16 and 17 into enable state or state to regulate the electric contact are provided. |
