<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an amylose content-invariable type rice, capable of giving the amylose content-invariable type rice having a constant amylose content in the seed endosperm, even when a ripening temperature is varied, by ripening rice grown from a rice seed subjected to a mutagenic treatment and then selecting seeds having muddy endosperms from the seeds harvested from the ripened rice. SOLUTION: This method for producing a rice whose seed endosperm amylose content is not varied, even when a ripening temperature is varied, comprises ripening rice grown from a rice seed subjected to a mutagenic treatment at a slightly low temperature and then selecting seeds having muddy endosperms from the seeds harvested from the ripened rice. The slightly low temperature is a temperature at which the amylose content of seed endosperms obtained from rice grown from rice seed not subjected to the mutagenic treatment increases. Therein, the temperature for ripening the rice grown from the rice seed subjected to the mutagenic treatment is preferably 18-22 deg.C.</p> |
