PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper insulating container which is equipped with a grip piece so that the container can be held safely even at the time right after heat cooking. SOLUTION: For a insulating container which is made up by combining a bottomed paper cup main body 20 coated at its inside with polyolefin resin with outward curling formed at the brim of its upper opening and a paper cylindrical body 10 in a reversed truncated corne shape with a space formed between the external face at the side wall of the trunk part of the paper cup main body and the internal face of the cylindrical body, a grip piece 3 each demarcated by a score 5 in a specified length and an incision line 4 connecting both ends of the score and turnable toward the outside at the score 5 are formed at opposite positions at the side wall of the cylindrical body. The score 5 is formed in a straight line connecting two points in the circumferential direction of the side wall of the cylindrical body or in a line curved downward while joining parts 6 are formed at the points at the midway of the incision line and furthermore, a notch 7 is formed at a part on the periphery of the grip piece 3 or a small score is provided at the front end of the grip piece 3 so that bending can be made easily.
