PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the age of a subject to be unconsciously left unprinted in a vision acuity tester by automatically calculating the vision evaluation result by ages based on the age inputted by an age inputting means moving the tester to an age inputting mode at the time of switching on the power source or outputting the test result. SOLUTION: A panel part 3, a response button 4, and a joy stick 5 are connected to a control part 20 of this visual acuity tester. Lighting on/off of a light source 19 to light up a target plate 11 with Landolt rings placed on a circle, and operation of a rotation device 21, moving device 22, and a voice guide generating part 23 are controlled corresponding to a test mode at the control part 20. That is, when a power switch is pushed to turn the power source on. the tester is brought in a both eyes test condition and an age inputting mode to automatically input the age of a subject. When the tester comes in a condition to display the age of the subject, a static vision switch is pushed to move into the static vision test and the test result, etc., are stored in a memory 24 and printed out by a printer 8.
