The cutting plate includes a milling tool (1) suitable for copying. On the rounded end of this tool there are two diametrically opposite plate seats to receive the asymmetrical cutting plates (e.g. 8). The cutting plates, which are identical, have two corners and two cutting edges (14,15). The first cutting edge has a longer arc-shaped sector and a shorter straight sector, while the other cutting edge (15) has a shorter arc-shaped sector and a longer straight sector. The first cutting edge is shaped to lie on a spherical surface merging with a cylinder when the plate is on the first plate seat (6) in the active position.
