The length (b) of the locking tab (160), as measured in a direction perpendicular to the fold line (142) between the central and end wall sections (122, 124) of the blank (120), is greater than the length (a) of the second incision (172) used to form the opening for the tab, as measured in a direction perpendicuar to the tear line (153) separating the corner section (133) from the end wall section of the blank. The blank includes a central section joined along first and second fold lines to a pair of end wall sections, and along third and fourth fold lines (144) to a pair of length wall sections (126). Four corner sections (133) are joined along fifth to eighth fold lines (147) to the length wall sections, and are separated from end wall sections by tear lines (153). Each corner section has two incisions used to form an opening for the locking tab. The first incision (171) extends from the fold line between the corner and length wall sections, and at least part of the incision extends at right angles to this fold line. The second incision extends from the same fold line at one end of the first incision, following a path leading away from the tear line separating the corner section from the adjacent end wall section. An incision (164) extends from the free edge of the head wall section in order to form the locking tab. An Independent claim is also included for a box assembled from the blank.
