PURPOSE: A screw gear type forward/backward movement mechanism applying CVT(continuously variable transmission) uses a screw gear instead of a planetary gear set, thereby realizing a mechanism which is easily moved forward/backward. CONSTITUTION: A CVT comprises a screw gear member(51), a pulley member(52) and an output gear member(53). The screw gear member(51) outputs a reversing power by transmitting the power of an engine(E) to a driven shaft(56) by a driving shaft(S) through the selective coupling of the first frictional element(54). The pulley member(52) conveys a power from the driving shaft(S) to the driven shaft(56) through a metal belt(63) by the selective coupling of the second frictional element(62) mounted on the driving shaft(S). The output gear member(53) outputs a power which is transmitted from the pulley member(52) and the screw gear member(51).
