摘要 PURPOSE: A control device for the active roll damping of a vehicle and a control method thereof are provided to prevent a rolling phenomenon by compensating for suspension property according to lateral acceleration and displacement during a turning, to prevent an understeer by strengthening rear suspension property during an acceleration and to prevent an oversteer by strengthening front suspension property during a deceleration. CONSTITUTION: A control device for the active roll damping of a vehicle contains a steering angle sensor(10); front or rear displacement sensors(20,30) sensing the displacement of a front and a rear shock absorber; a brake switch(40) turned on when a driver steps on a brake pedal; a throttle position sensor(50) sensing the opening degree of a throttle valve; a brake pressure sensor(60); a vehicle velocity sensor(70); a micro-controller(80) outputting lateral acceleration with signals from the steering angle sensor and the vehicle velocity sensor, outputting a rolling compensation value with the lateral acceleration and signals from the front and the rear displacement sensor, compensating an understeer with a signal from the brake pressure sensor when the brake switch is turned on, and compensating an oversteer with a signal from the throttle position sensor when the brake switch is not turned on; and a suspension drive unit(90) damping an active roll with signals from the micro-processor.
