PURPOSE: A discharge hole opening and closing device for an air conditioner is provided to prevent the introduction of impurities into a main body via discharge holes by closing the discharge holes when the air conditioner is not in use. CONSTITUTION: A discharge hole opening and closing device for an air conditioner includes a discharge opening and closing element mounted on a front surface of a main body(1) movably in a vertical direction, a power generating element(15) attached to an inside of the main body for generating driving force, and a power transmission element(18) for transmitting the driving force generated by the power generating element to the discharge hole opening and closing element, wherein the discharge hole opening and closing element moves vertically according to a driving direction of the power generating element for opening or closing discharge holes(11).
