PURPOSE: A method of detecting wheel speed of a vehicle is provided to detect a wheel speed exactly by detecting the wheel speed according to an average period of a pulse. CONSTITUTION: An average period of a pulse is detected by parsing a signal applied from a wheel sensor(S100,S110). Any wheel speed(S) is calculated using the average period of the pulse and any vehicle speed(S130), and a wheel speed is calculated according to a rotation radius of a wheel(S140). There is calculated a time(Tu) at a time where the wheel runs by 1m/sec(S150), and a start and end time(T) of the pulse inputted in a control period are calculated(S160). An exact wheel speed can be calculated by calculating any wheel speed using the wheel speed(S), the time(Tu) and a start and end time(T)(S170). A wheel speed(SPD) is calculated according to the any wheel speed(S180).
