PURPOSE: A method for improve acceleration response is provided to prevent retardation of acceleration response and to improve efficiency of an engine by responding to a former ignition timing for specific time period during acceleration and then responding to an original ignition timing when temperature of cooling water is lower than a specific level. CONSTITUTION: An acceleration response improving method comprises the steps of: deciding if temperature of cooling water is lower than a specific level; detecting actions for acceleration if the temperature of the cooling water is lower than a specific level; performing igniting actions by responding to a former ignition timing for specific time period while acceleration is operated; and keeping an original ignition timing for a low speed after the specific time period elapses. Accordingly, acceleration response is improved at a lower temperature of cooling water. Further, defective effect due to retarded acceleration response is avoided when a vehicle traveling at a low speed accelerates.
