PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out starting control of engine in an adequate mode to practicability using an ID code of a card. SOLUTION: A controller of this engine starting control device determines whether or not an ID of a card 10 inserted to a midway of a card insertion passage 20 is normal or not. When the ID is determined to be normal, the controller confirms whether an automobile is in a safe state in which the automobile is not suddenly started even if the engine starts. After the safe state is confirmed, the card 10 is drawn till the whole of the card 10 is stored in the card insertion passage 20 by a guide bar 22. When the safe state is continued while the card 10 is inserted in the card insertion passage 20, the engine is started. A driver can recognize whether the engine is started or not by visually observing the state of insertion of the card 10 after the card 10 is inserted in the midway of the card insertion passage 20. Further, safety at the time of engine starting becomes high. |
