PURPOSE: An adjusting device for the tension of a drive belt in a vehicle is provided to easily and accurately adjust the tension of the drive belt by using a tension adjusting bolt installed near an alternator. CONSTITUTION: A tension adjusting device for a drive belt(4) contains a combining flange(5) formed on the outer circumference of an alternator(3) connected to a crank shaft pulley and a water pump pulley through the drive belt; an adjusting rod(8) with an elongated hole(7); a guide pipe(9) installed near one side of the combining flange, with a screw inside; and an adjusting bolt(10) inserted into the guide pipe for adjusting the tension of the drive belt by pushing one side of the combining flange. Thus, as the adjusting bolt is rotated little by little to push a coupling bolt(6), the alternator is rotated to adjust the tension of the drive belt.
