PURPOSE: A method for comparing screen images allowing errors is provided to set error range on a pixel basis while image comparison so as to make the compared result similar to the result of comparison done by naked eyes. CONSTITUTION: The method for comparing screen images allowing errors compares the first screen with the second screen image. At first, the second screen is compensated for a reference value when the reference value representing the color shift and distortion of the second screen is in a predetermined error range. Then, data including chrominance of all (x,y) coordinates and the frequency of the chrominance with respect to each of the first screen and the compensated second screen is obtained(100). At last, the two screens are determined to be identical when the data of the second screen is within the allowance of the first screen data and the two screens are determined not to be identical(160) when the data of the second screen is within the allowance of the first screen data.
