PURPOSE: A continuously variable transmission for a vehicle effectively uses the power of an engine by simplifying the structure and enlarging the continuously variable speed change range thereof. CONSTITUTION: A continuously variable transmission for a vehicle comprises an accelerating unit(4), an advance/reverse control device(18), the first continuously variable transmission(36), the second continuously variable transmission(66) and a final reduction unit(76). The transmission enlarges the continuously variable speed change range thereof by using the two continuously variable transmissions(36,66). Thus, the power of an engine is effectively used, thereby improving a power performance. Further, a load supported by a belt is distributed, thereby improving the durability of the transmission.
