摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a peak of load to engine by setting a fuel forcedly feeding timing by a high pressure fuel supply pump to a timing in which a cam shaft driving torque is negative. SOLUTION: In a high pressure fuel supply pump in a common rail type fuel injection system, the number of times in which a high pressure fuel is forcedly fed in one combustion cycle is set equal to the number of cylinders, and a fuel forcedly feeding timing by a high pressure fuel supply pump is set to a timing in which a cam torque A required for rotating and driving a cam shaft provided with a cam for driving an inlet valve and an exhaust valve becomes negative. Accordingly, an overlap between a peak of a driving torque B of the high pressure fuel supply pump and a peak of the driving torque A of the cam shaft is prevented to reduce a peak of load, and load for a timing belt used for taking out a motive power from an engine output shaft is reduced.
