PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate checking and maintenance without using an outer power source. SOLUTION: An induction voltage is generated to a primary coil 16-1 accompanied with rotation of a permanent magnet 10 based on an output shaft of engine. Accompanied with rotation of a projections 36-1, 36-2 based on the output shaft of the engine, an induction voltage is generated to an electromagnetic pickup 32, whereby switching elements 22-1, 22-2 are turned ON or OFF. By setting an OFF timing of the switching elements 22-1, 22-2 to an ignition timing, a current flowing in the primary coil 16-1 is shut off fast, a large voltage is generated in a secondary coil 16-2, and the generated large voltage is applied to an ignition plug 18.
