PURPOSE: A manipulating apparatus of a manual transmission is provided to accurately select the position of a gear lever and to enhance shift feel by installing a select stopper in a control shaft and a groove and a ball in the end of the control shaft. CONSTITUTION: A manual transmission operating apparatus comprises a control shaft(60) transmitting the operating force of a gear lever, in a transmission case(52); a control finger(58) installed in the middle of the control shaft; and a shift lug(59) moved forward and backward by the control finger to move a shift rail(51) of each gear lever. The control shaft contains plural select stoppers(62) hung on the upper and the lower face of the transmission case for limiting the vertical movement of the control finger. Many grooves(64) are formed on the end of the control shaft. A poppet ball(72) and a poppet spring(74) are elastically engaged with grooves in the transmission case.
