摘要 PURPOSE: A gear train for a four-speed automatic transmission is provided to keep the full length of the transmission even though an one-way clutch is added. CONSTITUTION: A gear train of a four-speed automatic transmission consists of a double pinion planetary gear unit(18) and a single pinion planetary gear unit(20) with a main speed change gear unit(8) and a secondary speed change gear unit(10). The main speed change gear unit variably connects an input shaft(6) and a sun gear(24) through a first clutch while the double and the single pinion planetary gear unit use a sun gear(24) and a ring gear(22) in common and variably connects the input shaft with a first carrier(32) through a second clutch. Then, the main speed change gear unit connects the ring gear with a transmission housing(36) through a first one-way clutch and a first brake in serial. Further, the main speed change gear unit connects a first carrier(32) with the transmission housing through a second one-way clutch and a second brake in parallel and a third brake between the second one-way clutch and the second brake. Finally, the main speed change gear unit makes a second carrier(34) as an output factor. The secondary speed change gear unit consists of the single pinion planetary gear unit and connects a ring gear(46) with an output gear(40) through an input gear(54). Then, the secondary speed change gear unit connects a sun gear(42) with the transmission housing through a third one-way clutch and a fourth brake in parallel and through a carrier(48) and a third clutch at the same time.
