PURPOSE: A controlling method for a servo of an optical disk is provided to perform an operation such as an automatic gain adjustment by using a digital servo controlling in a short time. CONSTITUTION: By supplying power, a system including a digital servo controller is initialized. A sampling frequency of the digital servo controller is initialized for a basic sampling frequency while initializing a roof gain for a basic roof gain value. After performing a focusing servo, an automatic tracking gain adjustment is performed. After completing an automatic focus gain adjustment, the automatic tracking gain adjustment is performed. Herein, the sampling frequency and the tracking sampling frequency are re-established. Then, a control signal is received from a microcomputer. Thus, a first task, a second task, or a third task is performed in response to a command for a servo.
