PURPOSE: A method for preparing tobacco paper is provided to give unchanged-inhalation of tobacco, neutralize components harmful to human using illite contained in the tobacco paper, and give soft and mild taste. CONSTITUTION: The tobacco paper is prepared by pulping fiber, mixing the pulped fiber, beaten fibrous raw materials and non-fibrous raw materials to form a drafting paper for thin tobacco paper, and drying the drafting paper. The non-fibrous raw materials contain 85-95% of non-fibrous additives and 5-15% of illite£KAl4(Al Si7O20)(OH)4|powder. The illite is one of the clay mineral. So obtained tobacco adsorbs and neutralizes components harmful to human with tobacco-wrapping paper.
