PURPOSE: A reset circuit is provided to perform a stable operation with regard to an unstable power at a normal mode and to reduce a power consumption at a battery backup mode. CONSTITUTION: A mode control signal generator(41,42,43) receives a mode set signal(CKST) and a mode release signal(CE). The mode control signal generator generates a battery backup mode signal in response to an input of the mode set signal and a normal mode signal in response to an input of the mode release signal. A control part has a switch section(51,52) connected between the first node(N1) and a power terminal and a current control section(53) connected between the first node(N1) and a ground terminal. A control terminal of the switch section is connected to an output of the mode control signal generator. The control part supplies a power to the first node when the normal mode signal is applied from the mode control signal generator. The current control section limits a current path of the power to bypass a current of a predetermined level. The control part interrupts the power supplied to the first node(N1) when the battery backup mode signal is received. A reset part(61-67) generates the first reset signal at power-on and the second reset signal when a potential of the first node becomes a ground potential.
