The invention relates to a motor-driven brush device with a brush section (16) which can be fitted on a seat (10) guiding a drive shaft (8). The rotary brush section (16) covers a fixed base panel (30) inside a vertical recess through the axis of the drive shaft (8). To provide a highly reliable motor-driven brush device of such a kind, it is proposed that there be an inwardly stepped recess in the rotary brush section (16) which also covers a fixed component.
