PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable an information displaying device provided with a data base storing information written in an arbitrary language, an information compressing section, an information translating section, a correspondence storing section, and a displaying section to display necessary information in a necessary language unconsciously of the work of translation. SOLUTION: This information displaying device is constituted in such a way that the device writes the summarized information outputted from an information compressing section 2 when a source language in which primary information is written is inputted to the section 2 in a correspondence storing section 5 and displays a summarized statement on a displaying section together with its translation outputted from an information translating section 3 when the summarized statement is inputted to the section 3. When an input is generated with respect to the contents of the displaying section for selecting the summarized statement, the device displays the corresponding unsummarized text by retrieving the text from the correspondence storing section 5. When an input is generated for selecting the translated statement, the device discriminates the selected language and the language of the uncompressed text by retrieving the untranslated text corresponding to the selected text, and displays the retrieved original text by translating the text in the discriminated language. |
