PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oscillatory wave motor device the, direction of rotation of which can be detected without increasing the size and cost of the device. SOLUTION: In an oscillatory wave motor device provided with a stator 1, which causes an elastic body 1a to oscillate by exciting an electromechanical conversion element 1b with double-phase inputs and a moving body which is driven by the oscillation of the elastic body 1a, while the moving body is press- contacted with the stator 1, a difference is produced between the load impedances of the double-phase inputs of the element 1 so that the driving direction of an oscillatory wave motor is detected by cornparing the A- and B-phase currents which are made to flow by the double-phase inputs with each other. |
