PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrolyte capable of improving battery characteristics such as cycle characteristic, electric capacity and storing characteristic in charged state by including a glycerin carbonate derivative in a nonaqueous electrolyte consisting of an electrolyte dissolved in a nonaqueous solvent. SOLUTION: This nonaqueous electrolyte contains a glycerin derivative represented by the formula in a nonaqueous solvent. In formula, R represents a 1-6C alkyl, a 2-6C alkenyl, a 2-6C alkynyl, a 3-6C cycloalkyl, or an aryl. Examples of the derivative include 4-acetoxymethyl-1,3-dioxolane-2-on, 4- propionyloxymethyl-1,3-dioxolane-2-on, 4-cyclohexanecarbonyloxymethyl-1,3- dioxolane-2-on, and the like. As the nonaqueous solvent, a low viscosity solvent such as dimethylcarbonate, tetrahydrofurane, γ-butyrolactone, or acetonitrile is used. This electrolyte is used as the component of a lithium secondary battery. |
