<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display control method/device for a computer capable of distinguishing efficiently the use of a CPU and the use of an accelerator processing a plotting at high speed. SOLUTION: The order of access to a frame buffer 2 by a CPU 11 and an accelerator 9 is decided in accordance with the difference of respective contents of plotting processings of the CPU 11 and the accelerator 9. Moreover, this device judges the overlapping of access areas with the frame buffer 2 by the CPU 11 and the accelerator 9 and when there is no overlapping, this device does not make the order relation of the access by the CPU 11 and the access by the accelerator 9 a matter. Furthermore, when overhead for making the accelerator 9 perform a plotting processing is small as compared with the data amount to be updated, the device makes the accelerator 9 update the data of the frame buffer 2 and when the overhead is larger than the data amount, the device makes the CPU 11 update the data of the buffer 2. Moreover, the device detects the idling state of the CPU 11 to perform a clock control in accordance with the connection state of a display device.</p> |
