PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor and an image processing method capable of transmitting clearer images. SOLUTION: Received PDL code data (S501) are classified into control data and printing data (S502). In the case that the control data are the data for identifying a facsimile communication instruction, a communication destination is switched to facsimile, a variable power value suited to the resolution of the communication destination is decided (S505), the variable power processing of image data is performed only once based on the variable power value (S506) and they are converted to a desired resolution.
