PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a moving-winding type linear motor, wherein the movement of a carrying object retainer in the stroke direction, prevention of vibration of the retainer in the direction vertical with respect to the stroke direction, and fine adjustment of the position of the retainer in the direction vertical to the stroke direction are enabled by using one linear motor. SOLUTION: Permanent magnets 4a, 4b fixed to both yokes 2a, 2b are made long alternately in the vertical direction by every adjacent permanent magnets 4a, 4b and arranged in parallel in a zigzag type. A single-phase winding is arranged on the outer periphery of a three-phase winding of a moving part. Thereby a force in the direction vertical to the stroke direction is applied to a carrying object retainer, so that the vibration of the retainer in a direction vertical to the stroke direction can be prevented. A position of the retainer, when it is moved is finely adjusted in the direction vertical to the stroke direction, and setting to an adequate position is enabled.
