PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the robot which enables easy updating of an operation control program controlling the operation of a device main body. SOLUTION: A control part 10 of a cleaning robot has an operation control program, a map information file, etc., stored in an EEPROM 10a. When a specific command is sent from a program update device, the cleaning robot rewrites the operation control program stored in the EEPROM 10a into the operation control program sent from the program updating device. Consequently, the operation control program of the cleaning robot can be updated. Therefore, the operation control program of the cleaning robot can be updated easily.
