PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the rotor for a motor which utilizes reluctance torque whose magnetic saliency ratio and generated torque are increased, while maintaining a low manufacturing cost and high strength state. SOLUTION: The rotor of a motor utilizing a reluctance torque has salient pole part 5 and recessed pole parts 6. The reluctance torque is generated in the rotor, to which rotating magnetic field is applied by a stator. The rotor is made of a magnetic anisotropic material and easy/flux penetrating direction in which the flux can flow easily is set as the salient pole direction of the rotor. With this constitution, the magnetic salient ratio is increased, and a large torque is generated.
