PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a locking function from deteriorating, even if an irregular load or an excessively large load acts on it. SOLUTION: A switching device 1 such as this device is provided with a slide member 7 for sliding in one direction in conjunction with the pressing operation of an operation member 5, an energizing means 10 for energizing the slide member 7 in the other direction, a substantially heart-shaped cam slot 6 formed in the slide member 7, a lock pin 9 engaging with the cam slot 6 movably in one circumferential direction in the cam slot 6 to regulate the slide member 7 at a locked position and an unlocked position, and an engaging member that engages with an engaged part 5a of the operation member 5, when the slide member 7 is positioned at the locked position, and cancels the engagement with the engaged part 5a, when the slide member 7 is positioned at the unlocked position.
