PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and method for data transfer which are suitable for overhead reduction by improving the utilizing efficiency of a bus. SOLUTION: A data transfer device is provided with an R buffer 260, a W buffer 280, and a DRAM 400. The device is also provided with a memory bus 140 which is connected to the buffers 260 and 280, a DR bus 110 which connects modules M4 and M6 to the memory bus 140, an RR bus 120 which connects modules M3 and M5 to the R buffer 260, and a WR bus 130 which connects modules M1 and M2 to the W buffer 280. The data transfer to the modules M1, M2, M3, and M5 is performed through the buffers 260 and 280, whereas that to the modules M4 and M6 is not performed through the buffers 260 and 280, but through the DR bus 110.
