PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the light from a light source to enter a light guide plate arranged on the rear side of a dial efficiently and illuminate the dial appropriately by less light sources. SOLUTION: This illumination structure is provided with a light guide plate 3 arranged inside a dial 2 and a light source 11 arranged opposite to a light entry part 32 provided on the light guide part 3, and the light from the light source 11 is made to enter the light guide plate 3 through the light entry part 32 so as to illuminate the dial 2 from the rear side thereof. A hole 31 for pointer shaft is formed to insert a pointer shaft 7 of an inner device 5 for a meter device into the light guide plate 3, and the light entry part 32 is formed projecting on the rear side of the dial 2 adjacent to the hole 31, and further one light source 11 is arranged facing the light entry part 32. Even if the light source 11 is a small light source such as a light emitting diode, the light can be made to enter the light guide plate 3 through the light entry part 32 efficiently and it can be introduced to the light guide plate 3 entirely.
