PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device where no undesired information is displayed on a circumferential part of a screen of a video device through simple signal processing. SOLUTION: The image display device where a video signal processing circuit 5 receiving a video signal conducts signal processing on the basis of a synchronizing signal included in the video signal so as to display an image and information on a screen 7a of a video device 1, is provided with a display control means 8 that receives the synchronizing signal of the video signal and outputs a display command signal denoting a change of color of an edge of a picture displayed on the screen 7a into an achromatic color or an optional color to the video signal processing circuit 5.
