PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an electrophotographic photoreceptor obtained by reversal development system free from a current leakage, excellent in chargeability, giving good image quality, excellent also in appearance characteristics by preventing the cracking of hard alumite on an aluminum substrate. SOLUTION: The electrophotographic photoreceptor has charge generating layer and a charge transfer layer on an aluminum substrate 1 anodically oxidized using an acidic electrolytic solution containing a low polymerized acrylic resin composition to form an anodic oxide film combined with the acrylic resin composition on the surface in 2-40μm thickness. The acrylic resin composition is a methacrylic acid mixture. The anodic oxidation is carried out at 1-5 A/dm2 current density and 0-5 deg.C temperature of the electrolytic solution. Anodic oxidation voltage used is obtained by superposing AC voltage on DC voltage, the DV voltage is >=1 V and the frequency of the AC voltage is 10-30 Hz.
