PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a measuring device for a shape that measures various kinds of parts on a measured object in a short time by a simple operation and man-hours for development are reduced. SOLUTION: A function from among detecting functions of a straight line edge, a circle edge, an arc edge, a center line edge, a center line between two straight lines, vertical line with a point passed to a straight line, a straight line connected between two points, an intersection point of two lines is chosen with command buttons 61-68. A dimension of a required part of a measured object is determined by combining the detecting functions. A confirming process of the setting of the detecting function is realized by storing the functions chosen as a hierarchical data structure.
